| FAQ
Q.
What time of year should we have our landscape installed?
A. Our “work season” for
landscaping projects runs from mid-March until early December, weather
permitting.
Q. We really want our landscape! How
soon can you be here?
A. ShrubWorks is a small company and
we place a high value on personal customer service. As such, we
may be booked weeks or months ahead. We will provide a tentative
start and completion date for projects, weather permitting. If you
are preparing for a special event (graduation open house, etc.)
please try to provide at least 6 – 8 weeks lead time.
Q. Do ShrubWorks mow lawns?
A. No. We have chosen to specialize
in landscape maintenance, design, and installation so we can provide
the best service possible for our customers. We do provide turf
fertilization and lawn installations to complement our landscape
offerings.
Q. Does ShrubWorks have a garden center
where we can buy plants/mulch/etc.?
A. No, we do not have a retail center.
We hand select plant material as needed for our installations at
wholesale nurseries.
Q. Do you charge for landscape designs?
A.
Yes. Design fees vary by the size and complexity of the project.
If you choose to have ShrubWorks install your landscape, the design
fees will be incorporated into the cost of the total project.
Q. Will ShrubWorks install hardscape
structures such as retaining walls, paver patios, or fences.
A. ShrubWorks will install some types
of hardscape elements, especially retaining walls or terraces using
interlocking concrete landscape blocks. If a hardscape construction
project is outside our expertise or ability to complete, we will
refer you to other contractors, or subcontract the work.
Q. Most low voltage lighting landscape
lights we've seen look cheap and dim. What makes your systems different?
A. We use professional landscape lighting
fixtures and transformers which are much higher quality than those
typically found in home supply stores. A wide variety of fixtures
and bulb wattages are available to create desired effects. As for
brightness, remember that your car headlights are a 12 volt system,
just like our landscape lights. Its just a matter of selecting proper
bulbs and fixtures.
